2024 Singing Competition by OCAC, R.O.C.(Taiwan)

2. Qualifications

(1) Overseas Chinese School (League) Student Group: By October 9, 2024, students aged 12 to 24 years old will be registered/recorded by the Overseas Chinese School, Overseas Youth Cultural Ambassador (FASCA) students, and Youwo Children of members of overseas Chinese organizations (children of overseas Chinese) who have student status must hold (or agree to apply for) i Overseas Chinese Card (the above does not include those holding Chinese passports).

(2) Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Center Group: Current students of the Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Center approved by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council.

(3) In the online preliminary competition, “individuals” are the participating units; in the online semi-finals and finals, qualified students can be invited to form a team (including vocals and accompaniment), but each person can only participate in one group.

(4) Professional singers who have signed a record (performing agent) contract are not allowed to participate; those who have won the first place in the association’s singing competition are not allowed to participate within 3 years.

 

3. Schedule

(1) Online preliminary round: June 13 to July 28.

(2) Online semi-finals: Upload the participating videos to the event website from August 3 to August 18. After review, the finalists are expected to be announced before August 28.

(3) Finals: On September 21, the competition will be held through pre-recorded videos. Finalists must upload their videos to the event website before September 17.

 

4. Awards

(1) Overseas Chinese School (League) Student Group: The first place in the finals is awarded US$2,800, the second place is US$1,700, the third place is US$800, and the top prize is US$330, “Best Hokkien Song Performance Award” and “Best Guest Award” Chinese Song Performance Award” is US$800 each, including trophy and certificate.

(2) Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Center Group: The first place in the finals will receive US$2,800, the second place will receive US$1,700, and the third place will receive US$800, including trophies and certificates.

 

5. Competition rules

(1) Song selection:

Online preliminary rounds and semi-finals: each will choose 1 song from the designated song list to participate.
Finals: Choose 1 song from the designated songs or compose your own song.

(2) Repertoire: Attachment of detailed plan of designated repertoire

(3) Arrangement and accompaniment:

Online Preliminary Competition: You must sing the original song in conjunction with the AI ​​system sound file, and there is no need to bring your own musical accompaniment.
Online semi-finals and finals: You can adapt your own performance songs, prepare your own accompanying music or bring your own instrumental accompaniment.

二、參賽資格

(一)海外僑校(團)學生組:至2024年10月9日,年滿12歲至24歲之僑委會立案/備查僑校在學學生、海外青年文化大使(FASCA)學員、友我僑團組織會員子弟(僑胞子弟)具學生身分者,並須持有(或同意申辦)i僑卡(以上均不含持有中國護照者)。

(二)臺灣華語文學習中心組:僑委會核准設立之臺灣華語文學 習中心在學學員。

(三)線上初賽以「個人」為參賽單位;線上準決賽及總決賽可邀請符合資格同學組成團隊(包含人聲與伴奏),但每一人以參加一組為限。

(四)已簽定唱片(演藝經紀)合約之職業歌手不得參賽;曾獲本會歌唱比賽第一名者3年內不得參賽。

 

三、賽程

(一)線上初賽:6月13日至7月28日。

(二)線上準決賽:8月3日至8月18日上傳參賽影片至活動網站,經評審後預計於8月28日前公布總決賽入圍名單。

(三)總決賽:9月21日,採預錄參賽影片方式進行,入圍者須於9月17日前將參賽影片上傳至活動網站。

 

四、獎項

(一)海外僑校()學生組:總決賽第一名2,800美元,第二名1,700美元,第三名800美元,優選330美元,「最佳閩南語歌曲表演獎」及「最佳客語歌曲表演獎」各800美元,均含獎盃及獎狀。

(二)臺灣華語文學習中心組:總決賽第一名2,800美元,第二名1,700美元,第三名800美元,均含獎盃及獎狀。

 

五、比賽規則

(一)選曲:

  1. 線上初賽及準決賽:皆自指定曲曲目選擇1首參賽。
  2. 總決賽:得自指定曲曲目選擇1首或以自創曲。

(二)曲目:指定曲目詳計畫附件

(三)編曲及伴奏:

  1. 線上初賽:須配合AI系統音檔依原曲演唱,毋須自備樂器伴奏。
  2. 線上準決賽及總決賽:可自行改編表演歌曲,亦可自行準備伴唱音樂或自備樂器伴奏。

To take the opportunity to expand the overseas Mandarin learning market, the Oversea Community Affairs Council is promoting the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning Establishment Program to assist the establishment of Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning (TCMLs) in overseas Chinese schools in Europe and the US. These establishments allow locals 18 years old and above to learn Mandarin and serve as important footholds in promoting Mandarin learning with a Taiwanese teaching style. As the world becomes more integrated, the need for increased world of Mandarin Chinese as the language of Taiwan (Perhaps you remember it as Formosa)

Purpose:
To promote a culture with Taiwanese Characteristics, enhance awareness of the importance of Traditional Characters, establish a connection to traditional culture, and highlight the importance of traditional characters and culture.

Idea:
The plan is to extend the teaching scope of the original Chinese school to encompass adult classes to promote a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s traditional culture in American mainstream society and to deepen the recognition of Taiwan as an indispensable member of the global village from a cultural perspective.
